Item Response Models for Forced-Choice Questionnaires: A Common Framework.
In forced-choice questionnaires, respondents have to make choices between two or more items presented at the same time. Several IRT models have been developed to link respondent choices to underlying psychological attributes, including the recent MUPP (Stark et al. in Appl Psychol Meas 29:184-203, 2005) and Thurstonian IRT (Brown and Maydeu-Olivares in Educ Psychol Meas 71:460-502, 2011) models...
متن کاملAssessing Reading Comprehension of Expository Text across Different Response Formats
This study investigated if different response formats (test methods) measure reading comprehension of expository text differently. The study was conducted with 48 semester 6 TESL students at a university in Selangor, Malaysia. These students received an expository passage having descriptive rhetorical structure followed by three response formats, namely, incomplete outline, graphic organizer, a...
متن کاملA WEIGHTED LINEAR REGRESSION MODEL FOR IMPERCISE RESPONSE
A weighted linear regression model with impercise response and p-real explanatory variables is analyzed. The LR fuzzy random variable is introduced and a metric is suggested for coping with this kind of variables. A least square solution for estimating the parameters of the model is derived. The result are illustrated by the means of some case studies.
متن کاملReasoning with differing tasks and response formats
This study investigated the role probabilistic and deductive relations play in the reasoning process. It was predicted that when taking an analytic stance to a problem, it would take longer to evaluate inferences when asked how probable it is that the conclusion is true, than when asked whether the conclusion follows or not from the premises. Contrary to this prediction, people responded faster...
